We really, really enjoy great food at Plasticland… but then again, who doesn’t? One of my new absolute favorite places to eat is Torchy’s Tacos. It’s a Texas food chain that was started in Austin as a food truck – which makes it even more fun to visit!

Now let’s get to the good part. Torchy’s stole my heart the minute I tried their incredibly delicious green chile queso. Seriously, it’s probably the best queso I’ve ever had (and I eat a lot of queso). But most importantly, their tacos are incredibly yummy and they offer everything from pork, chicken and fish to vegetarian options. My favorite is the Trailer Park with its crispy fried chicken and spicy poblano sauce (get it trashy style, meaning it replaces the lettuce with delicious queso – did I mention I like queso?). For the vegetarians out there, I’ve heard the Fried Avocado and The Independent (fried Portobello mushrooms) are fantastic choices. In fact, my brother, who recently relocated from Austin to New York, has mentioned visiting New York taco shops that have been influenced by Torchy’s and their fried avocado tacos.

If you live in Texas or plan on visiting soon, make sure to check out Torchy’s for some Plasticland approved tasty grub. You won’t regret it!
